Flooring Renovation!

This post is in collaboration with The Floor Show Winnipeg. As always, the opinions and experiences are my own.

It’s incredible what one renovation can do to change the entire feeling of a house. Since moving in 10.5 years ago, I always struggled with the flooring in this house. The separation or carpet and linoleum tile left the space feeling so cluttered and with this sort of separation that I really didn’t want my open concept home to have. After 10 years, I decided an upgrade was in order!

I was so excited to partner with The Floor Show Winnipeg on this project, and knew from the moment I walked into the showroom that I would find the perfect flooring for the space.

I knew I wanted something light and bright that would be cohesive with my dark kitchen cabinets, and I wanted to go with something timeless. I wasn’t sure what type of flooring I needed or wanted, but I was able to work closely with the team at The Floor Show Winnipeg on my wants and needs for my vision, while staying within budget.

The Showroom has everything from carpet, LVP, linoleum, and hardwood so the options are truly endless. Over the course of a few weeks, I signed out about 20 samples to bring home so that I was able to move them around my home at different times of the day, and in different parts of the house to make sure that the flooring I chose would look good in all areas of the house.

Their showroom is open to the public for you to walk in anytime, no appointment necessary. Project estimates are also complimentary, so when you have a vision in mind, they will help you achieve it within your budget.

I opted to leave the kids bedrooms out of the renovation as I thought carpet would be best in their bedrooms, and let’s be honest, it also saved me a little bit of money.

Once I selected my flooring, the team came to the house to take all the measurements to give me an accurate quote on my project. After much deliberation, I chose an LVP from Twelve Oaks Flooring called “Cyprus Sun” and could not be happier with how it turned out.

I’ll be honest, I was absolutely terrified of living in renovations with the kids. Having my bedroom torn apart, the living room completely emptied and a non-functional kitchen for a few days was less than ideal…BUT…I will say the team made it as seamless and headache free as possible.
